Being happy is a state of mind, it is that feeling arising from the sub-conscious of well-being. It’s a satisfaction of tranquility, comfort, being contented and joyous. Most times people see is a having everything good thing the world can give such as wealth, power, pleasure etc. I once asked myself, how can I find peace of mind? This is a question majority of us asked and are yet to get a satisfactory answer.

Individually, we all have a way of classifying a happy state of mind, while some see it as acceptance, others see is as security. One of the great men that ever lived have this to say:

“always aim at complete harmony of thoughts and words and deeds. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well with you” MAHATMA GANDI

Often, we are so engrossed with thoughts of having a happy state of mind that we totally forget how to be human.

Did you know, when you are happy and at peace with yourself, only then you can love yourself as well as love others? Happiness is like a viral disease; it can spread to as many person as you can imagine. Remember you can’t give what you don’t have and one of the most important things you can give to people around you is happiness, people should see you as a joy carrier, just like a light, everywhere you enter should radiate. You can’t achieve that without being happy with yourself. Another thing to bear in mind is this, when you forget yourself, you create a danger zone, not just for yourself but also for people around you. People make way when they see you approaching, you are tag a sadist.  In actual sense, the right adjective to use in qualifying you is a “time boob” waiting to explode is if care is not taken, if not well cautioned.

Sometimes life can be tough, things will always change, people will say and do thing that upsets you but it’s just the nature of things. Always remember, do not be too harsh on yourself, once you are at peace with yourself, you accept yourself the way you are. Learn to forgive yourself for all the past mistake you’ve ever made. Remember mistakes are meant to help us set things right; they are meant to make us and not break us. Stop being judgmental and compassionate towards yourself for all that you are.

While you are at it, ensure you are happy and contented for some reasons no matter how little the reasons may be, all you can do is smiling that absolute silence. They say practice make perfect, you would be at peace with yourself if you do the following

  • Do not compare yourself with others.
  • Learn from mistakes
  • Have faith in yourself
  • Be optimistic
  • Do what you enjoy
  • Forgive yourself and others.
  • Practice patience: things may not be going as planned, even those living around you may be getting on your nerves but it does not really matter. Do not allow such minor issues bother you. You may choose to ignore or respond the way you deem fit for your own peace of mind.
  • Make amends immediately

I could recall back then whenever I hold grudges against anyone, I begin to lose weight…. lol funny right? I also discovered that once I make peace with them, I become robust and full of life.; reasons are each time I see them, I  feel bitter and that alone torment me.

Do not take long to set things right, correct your mistakes as soon as possible and you will experience peace of mind, free from ill feelings and guilt’s.

Life is too short to live a sad and pitiful life.
